Our group was in an interesting state; Bucky was on his own figuring out stuff, Fanzy was doing whatever Fanzy does, and the rest of our group (Xara, Claire, and myself) were together for the day. In the afternoon, we went to Genki Sushi in Itabashi. Continue reading “Let’s Go To Odaiba”
Over the past couple days our group has been getting to sleep a little later than normal, and that results in waking up a little later than normal. Once we begin traveling farther outside of Tokyo, this will end up fixing itself since we’ll want to leave early to wherever our destination is. Continue reading “Let’s Take a Day and Do a Bunch of Things Locally”
Xara had gone ahead to Ikebukuro to do a little shopping, and Claire and I would meet up with him a little later to get something to eat. When I was about to leave the apartment, I heard some Japanese which I thought was coming from Justin, our friend upstairs. Instead, what I got when I opened the door was a Japanese woman talking to Claire about a local Buddhist. After I locked the door, she started talking to me… in Japanese. Today, I was greeted by Bucky in full Adidas tracksuit garb.
No, wait, let me start over…
Today, Xara and I went down to Shinjuku station, the busiest train station on the planet with over three and a half million passengers daily. Continue reading “Let’s Go To Ueno”
Denny’s? Really? Well alright then.

My friends tell me that Harajuku is known for its presence of fashion and clothing stores, and I can definitely see where they’re coming from with that. One can find stores for New Balance, “Skechers”, GAP, American Eagle, and much more. This was also the part of Tokyo with the highest concentration of foreigners that I’d seen thus far. Continue reading “Let’s Go To Harajuku”
Today was a rest day for me and a couple others. I got to figure out how to wash clothes, see Xara put on a skirt, try out the local katsu place next to the train station, and started putting CDs in their cases for Komeiji Records at Comiket.
…okay, something in there isn’t quite normal, but it’s Japan, everyday should bring something new and interesting. Continue reading “Let’s Experience an Earthquake”
In the morning, we split up into a few groups, with one of us still fast asleep at 11am. Xara and I paired up for the day and went to visit Akiba again. Continue reading “Let’s Explore Akiba Some More”
